Metal Fabrication of Electric Motor Cover for Cranes

|
This metal fabricated part, which serves as a cover for electric motors used in cranes, was manufactured and delivered within a week. The challenge in the production of this part was achieving the required 0.010" tolerance in our production operations. Aluminum sheets were cut on our 4 KW lasers and bent to angles of 62° and 90° accurately in our automated press brakes. We produced three sample parts in the beginning to verify the bend deduction (bend allowance). Once the flat layout was determined, production of this 1.1 lbs aluminum motor cover became easier for us. We manufactured about 150 estimated annual units (EAU) of metal covers based on the drawings provided by the client. |
